It seems impossible for me to control my overactive mind.  Can I still learn to meditate?

Absolutely - anyone can learn to meditate.  Unlike other techniques, Vedic Meditation does not involve trying to stop thinking.  There is no need to concentrate, focus, or force the mind to stop doing that which is its natural, automatic activity.  Instead, through the gentle repetition of a mantra (a meaningless sound), the mind naturally and spontanteously begins to settle down to a state of being beyond thought . . . a place of stillness and inner contentedness.

Will I have to chant or sit rigidly on the floor in strange yoga poses?

No.  Vedic meditation is practiced with eyes closed, sitting comfortably with your back supported.  The mantra is thought internally, not vocalized in any way.  To an outside observer, you appear to be simply resting.

Do I have to change my lifestyle, beliefs, style of dress etc.?

No.  Meditators come from all walks of life, subscribe to myriad religions and philosophies, and work and study in every imaginable field.  The only change to one's existing way of life is the incorporation of two 20 minute sessions of meditation daily.

I’m really busy.  How do I fit this into my schedule?

Meditators consistantly report more productivity and an increase in available time, feeling more refreshed and focused during work.  And because meditation is shown to be 2-5 times more restful than sleep, meditators find they actually need less time sleeping with a regular meditation practice.

How long does it take to learn and begin to feel results?

The course of instruction is conducted in four 90 minute sessions.  Upon completion, you will have a thorough understanding of the technique and how to successfully incorporate it into your life.  You will begin to enjoy the benefits of meditation immediately as well as cumulatively as you continue to practice.

How does this technique differ from other types of meditation?

While other forms of meditation may require intense concentration, contemplation, perfect physical posture, or complex techniques of thought correction, Vedic Meditation is a nearly effortless, comfortable practice in which the natural tendencies of the mind are used rather than controlled.  Millions of individuals the world over have found this technique to be simple, easy to incorporate into their lives, and beneficial to mental and physiological well-being.

What is the course fee?

The course fee is based on a tradition of equitable exchange between student and teacher and is equivalent to whatever you earn in one week of work.  The fee supports the teacher so that he/she may dedicate themselves full-time to the instruction of meditation.  Payment plans can easily be arranged.

What does scientific research say about meditation?

There have been more than 600 published scientific research studies conducted in the past 30 years that have shown the benefits meditation has on every area of an individual's life:  mind, body, behavior, and environment.

Is this a religion or a philosophy?

No.  Vedic Meditation is a simple technique that facilitates numerous mental and physiological benefits.  It is practiced by millions of people of all races and religions all over the world.
