Vedic Meditation
is a simple, essentially effortless practice which absolutely anyone can learn and master. It is derived from the Veda, the 5,000 year old body of wisdom and source of yoga and Ayurvedic Medicine. Designed for householders -- people who lead busy, active lives with jobs, relationships and families -- the technique does not require concentration, focus, or any changes of lifestyle or beliefs.
Meditators practice for twenty minutes, twice daily. The mental repetition of a mantra (a meaningless sound) allows the mind to spontaneously settle to a place of deep, inner quiet while the body experiences a state of rest that is 2-5 times deeper than that of a night's sleep. After experiencing this quiet, restful state the body and mind are rejuvenated and primed to handle the demands of life with equanimity and adaptability.
Benefits
